Everyone would buy the Digital Paper System, if it have these two functions

I think everyone would buy the Digital Paper System (even at the current high price) if it have these 2 functions:

1. Can surf the web (Even better if it run android)

I think most people would buy e-reader to surf the web, reading texts like news, as e-ink is so comfortable

2. Can be connect to PC/tablet and act as a monitor

If so,

parents would buy for their children to protect eyes

students would use for doing assignment work

Office workers would take to office and use for 10 hours

Elederly would be more comfortable using computers

Or else, i would not buy such an expensive tablet just to read documents (most people prefer buying ipad with that price)

Thanks!

That is not what this is made for, and also not yet remotely technically possible with e-ink displays.

"That is not what this is made for, and also not yet remotely technically possible with e-ink displays."

Onyx has implemented these features in its Carta ereader (internet access and device mirroring), so it certainly is technically possible.  Moreover, the Sony DPT-S1 supported internet browsing and cloud access.  It is puzzling that the RP1 does not.

According to Sony's advertising, the RP1 is made for, in addition to other professionals, lawyers and musicians.  Lawyers require internet access while in the field, to legal databases such as LexisNexis and WestLaw, and cloud/email to access case documents.  Professional musicians require support for Bluetooth page-turning devices.  While it is great to see the hardware present that would allow these functions, it is disappointing not to hear from Sony whether it may work to implement them.
