After Marshmallow Update Dec 2016 KDL-55W800C non responsive overnight (idle) and requires power cycle to restart. Can anyone

This is super annoying.  My TV was working perfectly previous to Dec, 2016 Marhmallow upgrade (Canada)

Has been occuring everyday.  Whenever I try to turn on TV in the morning after tv off overnight remote and hardkeys on TV are non responsive in turning TV on.  Have to perform plug/unplug.

Tried turning all sleep features off.

Tried deleting all my android apps.

Tried unplugging all my HDMI inputs.

Tried a different power source.

Tried factory reset.

My warranty ends Jan 1, 2017, so Sony better be able to fix this or replace my TV.

Can anyone help?

Same here. TV has been great for almost a year but ever since the latest update it's unresponsive randomly and I have to unplug it and fully reboot randomly.

Same here. If the TV has been off for several hours a hard reset (unplug) is necessary to get it to turn on. Even then it's not 100% responsive to inputs. Had to reset it today by unplugging, then it wouldn't see any input on HDMI 1 until I reset it through the settings > about > reboot option.

Until the latest update the TV was exceptional. Now it's a bordeline piece of junk. Sony, please fix this.

I also have the same issue.  I did a factory reset this morning, we will have to see if it powers up tonight after I get home from work.

I am also having the same problem. After the update I sometimes can not turn on or off the tv without un powering it. The remote and manual power buttons won't work.

I ended up clearing cache for the apps and also left the TV unplugged for a few hours. So far so good.

Well, I spent 2 hours on the phone with a Sony Tech on my KDL-65W850C.  We did everything from a simple factory reset to a forced factory reset.  All power issues remain.  I have to unplug to plug back in to get the TV to start.  The Sony Tech advised since my TV just went out of warranty, he would spend the time with me but if this failed, I would need to take it to a Sony Service Center.  He also said that I was the first complaint on the new software to the best of his knowledge.  I am guessing they are not reading this page.
