Re: Brand new 65x930d wont turn on

OK, just got off the phone with Sony support, on a Saturday. Said I will receive an email in 48 hours, they will sent a repair part, how do they know what's wrong, to a service center. They will contact me to setup a day to do the repair. I will also have to remove the TV from the wall. This is totally unacceptable, no TV and I have to remove it from the wall!!. Also how did others get to the replacement phases? And how did one person get the X930E?

I bought the TV in Oct 2016, for reference.

Re: Brand new 65x930d wont turn on

They don't know what's wrong.  They are guessing at replacing the part as the least expensive option for themselves.  It seems on rare occasions it works; most times not.  They will then offer to send you a 900E model (which is a step down) vs the next year's model 930E.  They no longer have any 930D models left.  You can plead your case for the 930E if you want but, inevitably, if you get tired of the process and want a TV you will need to accept the 900E.  You will not be able to plead your case to higher than the original agent and the next higher up person.  They will refuse to allow you direct contact.

I saw that one person said they got the 930E.  I kind of doubt that as nobody else was able to get that.  However, if they offer it to you, please post that update.

I have already talked one person out of buying a Sony TV who was going to buy one and plan to do more of that at Best Buy after Thanksgiving.

You are going to love this process.  And don't get excited later when a moderator offers to contact you about it on this board.  Nothing comes of it.

Re: Brand new 65x930d wont turn on

Repairman came yesterday. replaced a board. The TV immediately broke again after just a few minutes of working. They now give up on fixing it, so Sony is bringing me a replacement. It is indeed a 930E, not a 900E, so I am happy about that.

Re: Brand new 65x930d wont turn on

Interesting to see a few cases where customers are being offered a 930E as a replacement, instead of the 900E. This is the right thing to do, of course, and glad to see that SONY is doing this now, but what does this mean for the many customers who got a 900E as a replacement? This is a real failure in customer service and certainly not an equitable and fair solution for those customers. Is SONY willing to replace those 900E with the 930E now as they should have done in the first place?

Re: Brand new 65x930d wont turn on

Ok, Sony. I know you read these. Are you going to replace the 900E you sent me with a 930E?

I spent over 3 weeks going back and forth with you trying, rightfully, to get the 930E but you refused. Now others are getting the 930E??
