My KDL-52XBR4 TV has been trouble-free for ten years, up until last night when it suddenly developed a green band down the center of the display. Researching the issue online leads me to believe that it may be a problem with the T-Con board. Would anyone out there disagree with this assessment? I doubt that Sony would do anything to replace/repair this TV for me--I bought the TV about ten years ago, after all. I don't think these things came with a ten year warranty.
For anyone wondering in the future, I ended up trying to clean the connections between the T-con board and the panel and UB1. This didn't solve the problem, so I ordered a new T-con board (Samsung LJ94-01944H). Replacing the T-con board solved my problem. TV is working flawlessly again, for under $100!
