Re: netflix error -111

Had the same issue, several times.  Try restarting the tv.  Also, go to the apps page, find the Netflix app and clear the cache.

good luck.  These tv's are very frustrating.

Re: netflix error -111

I had this same Netflix error on my 850D, after using Netflix regularly and without issue. There was no way to even resubmit the login data since the app closed as soon as I hit OK acknowledging the error (no other option given).

Multiple reboots via power button and unplugging did nothing.  Tried to go to the Google Play store to see if I could uninstall any updates, and it would not connect, said no internet, though the wired connection was fine and passed the network check.

Then I tried YouTube, which (finally, an app with some real help!) told me to set the system time.  I looked and it was set to automatically update via the network, but it gave a 2014 date. No idea why since it had been functioning fine up until the Netflix issue.

After setting the date & time and shutting off 'auto', I went back and found the Play store now worked.  Netflix, however, did not, even after rebooting, same -111 error.  So I went back to the play store and had it uninstall all Netflix updates.  Then I had to log in to Netflix again with the password, but it works again.

The Play store showed Netflix had just recently been updated, so maybe that was the cause, but the date being wrong led me to believe it may have been a system update combined with the Netflix update that caused the issue.  Perhaps clearing the cache as above mentioned may have fixed it, however I was unable to find that 'fix' when searching earlier.  And, I have no idea of whether it will again update and become a problem, but it's working. The settings menu for Android now seems to lack any access to the most basic functions like reset or even identifying the Android version...perhaps it's in there somewhere, but I can't find it, where I could before.

So if you're having that -111 Netflix error and rebooting or clearing the cache doesn't work, check your system time, set it correctly if i'ts wrong, and go to the Google Play store and uninstall the Netflix update.

Re: netflix error -111

Unable to access Netflix. Like so very many others. Can't get past app, so impossible to sign out and back in again. Starting and restarting no longer works and I shouldn't hav eto do tis on such an expensive piece of equipment.

I specifically chose the set for Netflix viewing. I expect ther'ell not be a response. This in itself is useful, as it means consumers can then proceed to ombudsman and Office of Fair Trading.

Re: netflix error -111

This -111 error is terrible.  I have had a bad experience with this TV.  Have had it for 60 days.  So many errors and resetting all the time.  Now trouble with Netflix.  Sony please help.

Re: netflix error -111

I'm having the same issues.  reboots don't work, Cache dump/reset don't work, its been 2.5 years of this, and now when I try to call in they try to sell you a service contract.

I want a refund for a set that just, WORKS.

Re: netflix error -111

I'm getting the -111 error as well. I was viewing Netflix, did a rewind, began watching and then BOOM! Sony X850D. $1000 TV! WTH? I cleared cache, unplugged TV. Did an Android reset and still can't access Netflix. Also, when I go into Netflix the sound to my sound bar goes away. What a bunch of ******. I don't feel well tonight and just wanted to chill with some Netflix.

Re: netflix error -111

For my Sony Android (2015, now on Marshmellow) I tried lots of stuff, and what worked is to delete the Netflix data in Settings>Applications>Netflix and restart the Sony/Android by holding the remote's (ON/OFF) POWER for about 5 seconds until it restarts, and then just sign into Netflix with your email and Netflix password.

I suspect my Netflix software app got updated, because it seems to have a spiffier fast forward and the stream went HD like instantly, which is quite welcomed.  4/17/2017
