Re: Air bubbles in LCD Screen _ sony bravia ex330

I boughi 2x klv32bx300 about 4 years ago and they are both having similar problems. I am from mauritius and would be prepared to order two pannels to get these tv's working again. I cannot stand throwing them away!

My previous tv vas a Thomson CRT and it lasts 10 years before the tube color faded away. Wery reliable.

There should be solutions to repair any faulty tv to stop dumping to the junk yard.

Hope a solution is available!

Re: Air bubbles in LCD Screen _ sony bravia ex330

I'm exactly facing the same problem with Sony Bravia BX200 here in india. Initially bubble started with one corner and now spread to 70% of TV. Customer care/Sony team has now got new way to mint money by first charging for engineer visit and then will ask to change the panel.

No wonder why they are loosing market to Samsung & LG all over because of such a filty product quality and rude behaviour. Soon they will be doomed. Why buy Sony when you get same quality from local company at lower cost, i'll make sure that i turn down at least 10 prospective customer of your's with my experience. you guys will realise the power of social media.

Re: Air bubbles in LCD Screen _ sony bravia ex330

It seem like a Polarizer damage to me.

The Polarizer material used in this model seem to have some problem and cause such kind of defect.

Since this model is old enough to expired in warantee.

Maybe the only option we have is to contact so local LCD repair specialist.

I think the Polarizer can be remove and replace.

Just need to make clear what degree angle of Polarizer that this model using..
if Sony could disclose..It will be easy for repair guys to source for some replacement Polarizer and repair it.

it shall not be expensive as changing a full panel.

by the way, nowaday .. 32 inch TV price is cheap.

Re: Air bubbles in LCD Screen _ sony bravia ex330

@Titanium , i was also thinking of removing the protective screen (lamination layer) off the screen..should I try it ? Or, anything else I should try except replacing the panel to fix this issue ?
Fed up with these sony products, first Vaio, then Xperia, and now Bravia BX300..never going to buy one again

Re: Air bubbles in LCD Screen _ sony bravia ex330

Hey, can anyone help me with this. I was also having the same problem as all of the above mentioned (horizontal bubble line formation across the screen), but now these lines of bubbles are starting to rupture and forming rough lines, also liquid drops are appearing in some part of the screen over these rough lines. This is also leaving a bad odor and one can smell it when he is standing close to the lcd tv. I'm little worried that may be the chemical of liquid drops is toxic and whether its odor can be harmful for our health. Should I be bothered about it or not ?

Thanks.

Re: Air bubbles in LCD Screen _ sony bravia ex330

Hello Mayank123,

Welcome and thank you for considering the SONY Community!

For lines on the screen, you may refer to the steps below to isolate the issue.

  1. Turn off the television.

IMPORTANT: If you have a projection television that uses an internal lamp, wait 5 minutes after turning off the television to allow the lamp to cool before continuing with the following steps.

  2. Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
  3. Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.

NOTE: If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.

  5. Turn on the television.

If the issue is still unresolved, service may be required. For further assistance regarding your concern, please contact the Sony offices/Sony representative offices nearest to your place of residence in Asia Pacific region http://www.sony-asia.com/countryselector.html?hpid=countryselector:AsiaPacific. Due to proximity, they are in a better position to respond to your questions or concerns.

Regards,

-Erin
