Graphics card issue

Hi, I own an sve1512y1esi and after trying to play a game it showed vertical lines with different colours and it got stuck. Then it doesn't open most of the times and if it opens it shows again vertical lines and it gets stuck after the vaio screen. So I think it's a graphics card problem. As I show it's embedded so I have to change the motherboard, right? So the question is, which motherboard can I use except of my vaio's m/b which could be better? Also does anybody know the model of my vaio's m/b? Thanks in advance!

Re: Graphics card issue

Hi, Gibsonlp

Thank you for considering Sony Community!

We recommend performing troubleshooting steps before jumping to a conclusion. You may perform a power cycle or simply restarting the computer. To perform a power cycle, follow the steps below:

  1. Turn off the computer.
  2. Remove all connected devices and the AC power cord.
  3. Remove the battery.
    • If the battery is not removable, try to look for a battery off button located usually on the bottom of the unit.
    • Hold the button for 5 seconds.
  4. Hold the power button for 5 seconds.

You may test the screen while in Safe Mode

For further assistance, we kindly recommend visiting our Sony Global Website for information on contacting the Sony Support Center in your region at http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/Support/

Hope these help.

Regards,

Vincent
