My headphone won't work with my laptop.

I have a Sony Vaio laptop and iBeats. My headphones don't work properly with my laptop but all i hear is bass for everything. I tryed it out with my friend's Apple headphones and it work fine. Then only difference I could see is the rings on the tip of the headphones. My headphones work perfectly with everything else I have. Is there a problem with my beats or my laptop and how can I fix it.

Re: My headphone won't work with my laptop.

If your iBeats Headphones have a proprietary tip, it may not fit the Standard 3.5mm Headphones jack internally that is universally used in almost all audio electronic devices. Also the iBeats incorporates the microphone into the same outlet, where as the headphones jack and Microphone jack are separate on your laptop. Please consult apple for an adapter to allow your proprietary tip to work into a standard 3.5mm headphones jack.
