Re: [New Sony Vaio Pro] Wifi Issue!

It seems the new drivers cause the following (in my case): I now suddenly have bars showing in areas of my home where I did not have any bars before, I now see 2-3 bars. HOWEVER, there still is not internet connection. I still cannot open any web pages in those locations and IE tells me its not connected to the internet. What a wonderful improvement...

@Denx

Hmm, the Fit uses 3rd gen Intel Processor and a Broadcom BCM43142 wifi card so the issue is very different. Hmm, now I have to think about this as well. This is happening across the board so I doubt it's a wiring problem. You can technically place the card wherever you want as long as you connect the antenna to it correctly and the antenna runs through the monitor in most cases to give you decent signal strength. This particular thread is about a completely (hopefully) separate issue with the new Intel 7260 AC Wireless card/maybe Intel 4th gen issues. I will redirect you to this thread where they are already looking for a solution. Sony has already acknowledged it as a problem and is working on it. Time frames are always unknown. There is not going to be a guarantee on how fast they can get out working drivers as it's an unpredictable thing.

Hi Sony, why are you lying??

I checked that webpage and SVP112A1CM (SVP stands for Sony Vaio Pro right???) is not listed in the models for download... Why do you say there is a new driver and we can't install from your OFFICIAL support page?

Never buy sony again, more than 1K€ to get this support!!

Hmm, sounds like lack of a local website. Seems the model both you and Rups are from smaller countries in the European area correct? Hungary seems to come up when I look for SVP112A1CM. Either way, the driver is the same. It's the Intel Proset 16.1.0.14. There are links to it but the model number you listed does not appear to be a real model number or it's from a country that has not listed it yet or changed the listing. Have you double checked your number? Here is the link to the Driver installation page. Again, it's the same all around as the Pros are all using the Intel 7260 card.

Found it. Looks like your model is under the Asia-Pacific Region and shows up at Sony-asia.com. Here is the link for your model. You'll want to select your operating system then "Software Patches" as your options on the driver page.

SVP13213CG Product Support

The reason it doesn't show up in the link provided by the Sony support on this forum is because the link goes to the USA site which only has the USA model numbers. Each Sony site will have different model numbers listed (sony.co.uk, sony.co.jp, sony.hu, sony-asia.com, etc) for each different region.

Re: [New Sony Vaio Pro] Wifi Issue!

Today a friend of mine received his new Vaio Pro 13 (also German-Version).

He has got the same issue with his VP13 like me, and the others here.

He's going to return the VP13 (refund) and looking for another brand.

I think I will return my VP13 too, if there's no solution until end of the week.
