Sony Vaio Flip 14A touchscreen suddenly stopped wotking

I've had my Sony Vaio Flip for a while now. Decent laptop. Model # SVF14N1905.

This morning when I turned it on, suddenly no touchscreeen, anywhere. I'm on Windows 10 Home version 1703.

I tried googling the issue, I tried looking at my device manager. There's an:

  • HID-complaint vendor defined device
  • Microsoft Hardware USB Mouse (I use a MS Trackman trackball)
  • Sony Firmware Extension Parser Device
  • USB Input Device

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, finding the "best" and "most up to date" drivers, everything's already up to date.

I'd be very surprised this is a hardware problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

Re: Sony Vaio Flip 14A touchscreen suddenly stopped wotking

Hi Bluntcoder,

Welcome to Sony Community!

Too bad the attempt to fix it didn't work out. Was there any change that happened prior to the issue? Please refer to the link below for additional troubleshooting steps.

https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/37394

The troubleshooting steps listed in this link should resolve the touchscreen issue. If you have completed all of the steps and the issue is not resolved, service may be required.

Regards,

Jen
