VAIO VPCS111FM Display

Need help.  Laptop VAIO VPCS111FM has display screen that stays dim.  Ambient lighting is turned off and brightness is turned all of the way up.  It seems like the ambient lighting is messed up.  Could be a driver.  Any ideas ??

Hi Marty,

Try performing all the steps mentioned here: https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/30527

Next, try performing the system restore to an earlier time following all the steps mentioned here: https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/31528

Next, perform a complete system recovery to restore your computer to the factory settings. Restart the computer, keep tapping the F10 key continuously, press enter key at the edit boot option, select start recovery wizard and click on skip VAIO Care rescue (If you do not wish to back up data) to start the system recovery process.

Note: You can perform the system recovery only if you're using the same factory installed operating system. It is required to take backup of all the data before performing the system recovery as it erases everything from the computer.

If the issue persists, contact Sony Service Assistance Team here: http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/service.pl
