VPCYB15AG Laptop & Max RAM

Hi,

I have a VPCYB15AG notebook purchased in India - Asia. Its specifications here clearly state that Max RAM is 2 GB.

However the chipset is AMD A50M Fusion Controller Hub which I believe supports upto 4 GB RAM.

This laptop comes with pre-installed Windows 7 Starter. I have however installed Windows 7 Ultimate.

Now my question is..

Is this 2 GB limitation as stated in specs, hardware limitation or software? This is because if I correctly understand Windows 7 starter may have limitation of 2 GB. Did Sony put 2 GB due to Windows 7 Starter or the chipset (motherboard / CPU) maximum supported RAM?

Thanks.
