Computer stuck on attempting repairs

Hi,

I've upgraded my VPCSB190X from W7 to W8 about a year ago.

Recently the computer stopped working.

I have the regular W8 boot screen with a text saying "Diagnosing your PC" which then switches to "Attempting Repairs".

I've left the computer for several days with no result.

I do not have recovery DVDs ( and my optical drive worked for 6 monthrs)

I have been looking for a Bootable version of W8 but have been unable to find one on the internet (I have my own W8 key)

Can someone help me out ?

Thanks,

Guillaume

Re: Computer stuck on attempting repairs

Hi gragnet!

Can you check if the computer still detects your hard drive? You can do so by going to the BIOS. You may refer to this page on how to access the BIOS, also while in the BIOS you might wanna try resetting the BIOS settings to its default configuration.

Thanks
