Sony Vaio Windows 8 Upgrade - device problem

I bought computer for myself and then two days later I bought two identical (different in colour only) Sony Vaio VPCCA4S1E computers from my children.

My computer came with Windows 8 installed and I thought this was a great jump from XP which I had been using for years. My kids computers came with windows 7 installed, so I thought it would be a good idea for all of them to have the same operating system so I upgraded both kids' computers to Windows 8.

Now this was the first time I made the first mistake.

I did not make any recovery disks or backup discs, I simply did the upgrade simultaneously on the two computers.

This means I do not have the original windows seven installation disk. Smiley Sad

What I have is the Windows 8 disks. I have now found out that some basic things were missing including Vaio Care, etc.

For example to my greatest surprise the camera doesn't work on one of the computers although the installation process was the same for both of them.

The one with the camera problem says I should connect a camera.

In device manager I see an unknown device and I just cannot find the driver to it.

I want to fix this error or just revert to Windows 7.

My question is if there is any way I can revert to it without the original Windows 7 installation disks.

I made several attempts to update (and install) some of the windows 8 drivers made available on the  website. These were the following.

VAIO Update 6.0(for Windows8 Upgrade) 6.0 -

VAIO Power Management_Updater 6.0 -

VAIO Hardware Diagnostics Win8_Updater 4.6.1 -

VAIO Control Center_Updater 6.0 -

VAIO Care 8.0 Updater -

W8Upg_Vaio_Gate_Update 2.4 - 2.4.3.xxxx

W8Upg_Skype[W]_Update 5.10 -

VAIO Data Restore Tool Win8_Updater 1.10.1 -

CyberLink PowerDVD for Win8Upg BD3D9.0 - v5601

The error message I receive in the device manager about the events is at the end of this message.

On both computers I receive an error message about a basic system device. Can it be the camera driver? I suppose not because the camera is working on one of the computers. Can it be one of the drivers I tried to upgrade from the website above but which is not compatible with Windows 8?

What should I do? Should I try to find the drivers and let my kids use windows 8 or should I borrow a copy of Windows 7 and install it using the product code on the bottom of my computer?

Please help!

I would like to give them the computers for Christmas so I am worried that time might be too short. Smiley Sad

Thank you.
