Hi Retired-sony ,

Welcome to Sony Community!

We apologize for the inconvenience. May we know what is the version of the PlayMemories installed in your computer? Have you try to install and reinstall the software? If you haven't try it yet, please uninstall the apps and reinstall it from the website.

Re: VPCSE23FD Even latest version of Playmemoriesfreezes when trying to preview any image

Hi Retired-sony

Thank you for the reply. Try to uninstall the application then reinstall it up to version 2.1.0.16130 only (not the latest one V5.3.0.1.02070) then replicate the issue. Verify if the issue also exist using this version.

Regards,
Jen

The software you mention is plug in.

Running this sees no related program after uninstalling Playmemoriies.

I need to start from the beginning.

Re: VPCSE23FD Even latest version of Playmemoriesfreezes when trying to preview any image

Hi, Retired-sony,

Yes, it seems the PlayMemories Home is a pre-installed application. You may try the steps below instead:

How to reinstall bundled applications or original drivers using the VAIO Care software.

IMPORTANT: If you already have the Recovery & Restore Select Programs or Drivers to reinstall window open, skip to step 7.

  1. Close all open programs.
  2. Do not interrupt the power during the installation process.
  3. Click the Start button and then click All Programs.
  4. In the All Programs menu, click the VAIO Care folder and then click VAIO Care.

NOTE: If prompted for an administrator password or a User Account Control prompt is displayed, type the appropriate password, or click Yes.

  5. In the VAIO Care window, in the left pane, click Recovery & Restore.
  6. In the Recovery & Restore window, in the Install Applications and Drivers section, click the Start Installation button. Image
  7. In the Recovery & Restore window, in the Select Programs or Drivers to reinstall section, on the Programs, click to check the box next to the application(s) you would like to reinstall
    . Image
  8. Click the Drivers tab and then click to check the box next to the driver(s) you would like to reinstall. Image
  9. Click the Start button.
  10. Follow any on-screen instructions to complete the installation process for each application and driver selected.
  11. Click to check the box next to Restart Now and then click the Finish button. Image
  12. In the Are you ready to restart Windows? window, click the OK button.

NOTE: After the computer restarts the installation process is complete.

Hope these help.

Best regards,

Vincent

Oh well no go.

Worked around it and PMH updates to Play home Memories with the exact same problem.

Pictures will not preview and no response on program.
