Hi brandta,

 

The VAIO Care application is a system health, maintenance and troubleshooting utility. It can be used to troubleshoot hardware-and software-related issues. Vaio Care, VCTray and VC Agent are integrated with each other. If it's incomplete it will not function properly. You still have the power to delete the software that came with the computer but Sony will not liable for any unforeseen issues.

I tried to reinstall VAIO care, but i can't seem to find my model number.

 

Its giving me a message that:

 

Other region match found

The model you have entered is supported in the following regions:

 

...And nothing else... My model # is Sony Vaio Fit SVF15N12SAB. i bought from KSA Saudia Arabia. Please provide me a link to do this.

All you have to do is find the program vcagent.exe
following these directory paths:
 
Programs Files/Sony/VaioCare
 
Once you are in the VaioCare subdirectory, scroll down
until you find the program vcagent.exe.
 
Highlight it with your pointer, then click RENAME,
rename the filed:
 
vcagentstopped.exe
 
The program will not restart nor will it reinstall itself.
I have hit restart several times after you the above,
also shutting it down, turning computer off, then
turning it off and restarting.   The program did not
reinstall itself.
 
By renaming it, this way if you ever need it you just
go back, rename it taking out the stopped, restart.
 
And Sony...shame on your for writing such a program
that causes for many power consumption problems for
so many people, and then telling people to do a complete
reinstall, please, hire some people that have real computer
technical experience instead of reading off scripts to posts
solutions.
 
Start providing some real tech support instead of people
just reading off scripts.  People are paying good money
for products and getting awful support service and people
telling you a complete reinstall and also NOT answering
specific questions like so many people did in this forum
about this problem.  Instead, the so called techs gave
replied that either did not apply or completely idiotic answers,
instead of answering the questions asked.
 
This is  good way Sony to lose a lot of customers,
and I bet you this post will not be allowed to stay in
this forum, what you want to bet.  Sony does not like
people standing up to them.

Hi Jen,

 

that's absolute ******.

My Vaio SVS1512Z9EB is also terrorized by VCagent (12-15% of CPU is rather a rule than an exception), all under Win10.
On your support site is not a single piece of software for Win 10 to upgrade to (the latest for W8.1), and for my model the latest upgrades are from 2014.

It means there is nothing to upgrade to, but the VCagent troubles are still very annoying.

 

Any better advice?
