Ever since I got this laptop after all programs on startup have launched and I begin to use the machine a message pops up that say's "The application was unable to complete an operation".
The application appears to be "Centerstage".
I can't even find this program anywhere in hard drive to remove it.

It seems the issue is related with VAIO Messenger. Refer the following link for more information:
Try disabling pop-up notifications.
If the issue persists, uninstall then reinstall VAIO Messenger:

Thank you very much! I followed al the instructions and completely removed the programs as instructed on the links you provided and not only did the message stop reoccurring but the machine starts up and is ready to use much more quickly.
