My Vaio Care program that came installed with this Sony laptop became corrupt and will not run. Only the Vaio Care logo pops up - nothing else. I tried the uninstall article but it would not reinstall.
Tony, I am still unable to reinstall Vaio Care. When I try to install the Vaio Location Utility (required before installation of the Vaio Care software), an error message pops up stating the Location Utility can only install on Windows Vista of Windows 7. I am running Windows 7 X64 which shows is appropriate for this software (and of course originally came on my Vaio VPCEA3UFX). As a reminder, somehow this software became corrupt. You told me to uninstall which I did and now I can reinstall the software on the driver page as stated above.
This claims to be correct for Windows 7 64-bit. But your computer rejects it because it's meant for a different operating system? Strange.
As an experiment, try downloading this file to your desktop, then right-click the file and "run as administrator." See if that lets it install. Or, if you get an option for Windows Vista or Win7 "emulation", try that.
If not, try clearing out the old Vaio Care and Location Utility using freeware like Revo Unistaller, then try installing both again:
That worked. I was finally able to uninstall everything thanks to your suggestion. The Vaio Care Update (2012) was hung up and wouldn't uninstall. I use Advanced System Care which has an uninstall feature which did the trick. Thanks for your help; I was about to throw in the towel - and what a simple fix.
Well, my vaio care, which was first installed on my computer now is disapeered from and I tryed to reinstal it again ( model number VPCEB33FM) but unfortunately it does not work properly as before used to be very good. Now VAIO UPDATE is not working because it lost contact with the server and TROUBLESHOOTIN is not either then what to do in this situation. Thank you very much!!!
