You can only hide/show the RAID in the BIOS.  The only way to enter the RAID controller is through Ctrl+I, if that does not work and/or it freezes there the unit might need service.  Try taking out the hard drive that you just installed and see if you enter the RAID controller without the unit freezing on you...

Re: Raid removal on vgc-rc210g

Sony has a RAID setup program for this machine, but it only writes to a floppy drive.  While this unit does not come with a floppy, the motherboard has the cable hookup and a power supply cord inside.  I'm assuming that their software would also include removal instructions as well as setup, but I'm not sure.  I have downloaded the file and created a floppy disk, but I haven't used it.  No interest in RAID yet.  FYI.  I added a floppy drive with extra card readers to my CPU.  There are 2 unused 2X4 connector sockets that tie into the motherboard, creating new (card reader) drive letters.  Very helpful.  I can read, write and transfer almost any type of storage media on a single machine, although I'm getting close to running out of drive letters.  I have 3 HDD installed.
