SONY All-in-one recovery from factory disks problem

Sony All-in-One VGCLT23C

 

I’m caught in a small problem.  I just purchased the DVD’s (part #Y8316572A) to reinstall the Factory Condition settings to this system from Sony parts in San Diego.

 

The current operating system (Vista) is corrupted or damaged and will only allow me to boot in Safe Mode.  When I try to boot normally I get the Blue Screen that says Page_Fault_In_NonPaged_Area.

 

I have tried at least a dozen times to restore the system but the screen resolution will not allow me to change the display settings to anything but 640 x 480 at 4 bit.  This fills the display screen with only half of the page and when I have to click certain “boxes,” I have no way of getting to them to do it, no scroll bars.  I installed the Video Driver from the Sony Support Web Site, NVDVID-14173600-US but I still cannot change the screen resolution to view the entire instruction sheet to finish the recovery.

 

Can you direct me to a Help Screen on the internet for this?

Hello Jim,

 

Thanks for the post.

 

Reset BIOS and perform system recovery.

Restart computer > press "F2" key.

Use arrow keys on keyboard to locate “Exit" button and select "Load optimized or default values" option.

Save settings and exit BIOS setup.

 

If recovery partition is listed, follow the steps:

Thanks...Tried what you suggested but it didn't work.
