sony vaio hard drive replacement

I own a sony Vaio Laptop bought in April 2011. I Love the vaio. The hard drive is going and needs replacement.

Allthough I am computer literate, i have not replaced a hard drive on a laptop. I know how to do it but would need a little advice on how to procede. Do i make a recovery disc to reinstall windows 7 and the drivers. Or do I have to purchase a new operating system. all my data files have been backed up on a cloud server. Thanks. I think I should upgrade the memory too. What do you think.

If you wish to replace the hard drive, create recovery discs first.

Performing system recovery with recovery discs will reinstall pre-installed operating system, applications and drivers. Replacing the hard drive by the end user may void the limited warranty.

 

What is the model # of the computer? Model # is required for the RAM specifications. It is recommended to upgrade the RAM module with the specifications that the computer is shipped. You may purchase compatible RAM module of any brands from your favorite hardware vendor.
