How to enable Hyper-V in Windows 10 on Vaio

Greetings, I was having issues with activating Hyper-V virutual machine tool from Microsoft.  I saw a number of answers that were marked Answered, but I had to follow a number of links to get everything working.  So, I am posting the answer as well as the question.

My Vaio is the SVF15N17CSB

it came with Windows 8, but I upgraded to Windows 10 Enterprise.

I installed Hyper-V but was unable to get the Hyper-V Hypervisor to enable, I kept getting the error that Virtualization was disabled in the firmware.

So, here is the entire process from beginning to end.

  1. In Cortana type Turn Windows Features on or off (Select the Application)
  2. Select Hyper-V to install, check each level as Hyper-V Hypervisor needs to be selected if it is available. If it is not, then Virtualization needs to be activated in the BIOS.
  3. To get to the Bios on my laptop, I had to power off, then start the computer by using the ASSIST button, many computers though, allow pressing the F2 key, or Del or some other process, you will need to check for your Motherboard.
  4. In the Assist section, select BIOS.
  5. in the Advanced Tab select Enable on Virtualization.
  6. Press F10 and confirm you want to save the changes.
  7. If it does not automatically start, Power the computer back on.
  8. Once Windows is fully up, use Windows Shut down options and then choose RESTART.  This took about fifteen or twenty minutes for some reason, just about the time I was thinking it was locked up, it restarted. So be patient.
  9. If at this point when Windows is restarted and you are still unable to enable Hypervisor, power off using your power button and try again.
  10. If all else fails, check your system information in the Command Prompt, which can be accessed by typing cmd in the Cortana Search box, or Search on Windows 8.1 Pro.
  11. Type systeminfo and press enter, the last four items in the listing are for Virtualization. If any show no, then you cannot run Hyper-V without correcting whichever item is no.

Hyper-V Requirements:      VM Monitor Mode Extensions: Yes

                           Virtualization Enabled In Firmware: Yes

                           Second Level Address Translation: Yes

                           Data Execution Prevention Available: Yes
