NWZ-A17 bizarre sound issue

My device has been playing songs with some layers missing, like a lead guitar not in one song and backing vocals missing from another song, etc. I've changed ALL the settings to no avail, and I've confirmed that the problem is not my headphones with a different device. I've also determined that the problem is not the song files by playing them off the Walkman on my computer. The Walkman has this problem both wired and by bluetooth. What is causing this? Is there a broken piece of hardware?

Re: NWZ-A17 bizarre sound issue

Hi Anuddaguy,

Welcome and thank you for considering SONY Community!

Please try pressing the RESET button on the Walkman.

See location in the image below.

Please let us know if you're still getting the same result.

Thanks,

Re: NWZ-A17 bizarre sound issue

Hi, Anuddaguy

If the issue is still unresolved, then service will be required. A service technician needs to check the unit to further isolate and resolve the issue: https://esupport.sony.com/US/p/service.pl

Regards,

Vincent
