Sony NWZ-F886 cannot connect to MDR-1000X via bluetooth

Hi,

i am not able to pair an almost 4 year old Walkman F886 to the latest 1000X headphone.

I am not able to see the device when i scan for it using bluetooth. It doesn't appear in my walkman but it did appear in my Xperia.

I tried to pair it using NFC, but it kept saying "pair error, try again.

i had restarted both the headphone and the walkman but it is still the same.

I was able to pair another bluetooth receiver to the walkman.

I am suspecting that the obsolete bluetooth hardware in the walkman is preventing me from connecting to the headphone.

Can someone please advise?
