How to set up the DLNA feature on a computer using the Windows 8 operating system.

IMPORTANT:

  • The computer and the DLNA device must be connected to the same network for this procedure to work.
  • If you are using third-party firewall or security software, you may have to configure it to allow the DLNA server access to your network.

Follow the steps listed below to set up the DLNA® feature.

  1. Point to (but do not click) the lower-right or top-right corner of the screen, and then click to select the Settings charm.
  2. In the Settings screen, in the lower-right corner, click Change PC settings.
  3. In the PC Settings screen, click the Devices tab.
  4. On the Devices tab, click the + Add a device button.

    At the Searching for devices prompt, click to select the device you wish to add to the DLNA network.

    You will now be able to see that device from within a DLNA capable application.
