can we get from the xdcam ex3 metadata files a new file with more information? to avoid banding?

hi, i'm during the color correction process of a shortfilm shooted with the sony xdcam ex3, the images have a lot of banding mostly in the dark grey areas.

is there a way we can go to the metadata files and try to get a file with more information?

we used the xdcam tranfer for mac, but the images have a lot of compression, that's why i'm wondering if there's an alternative way to export de files from de metadata.

thank you

Hi Pam,

No, this is not possible. For what it's worth if you are using XDCAM Transfer you are getting the files in their native XDCAM codec with no additional compression. All the transfer application does is change the file wrapper from .mp4 to .mov. Apple or anyone else reading the files then decodes them natively. If you think you are seeing problems with the footage please feel free to reach out to our operational support team @ 800 883-6817.
