XDCAM Drive Software (VFAM) - v4.0.3

[ Edited ]

XDCAM Drive Software (VFAM) Version 4.0.3 (Win)

Status: Checked

Notes for Version 4.0.3 (Win)

Drive Firmware

·         PDW-U1: 2.540

·         PDW-U2: 2.320

Operating Systems Supported

·         32-bit Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP3 or later

·         32-bit/64-bit Microsoft Vista Business SP2 or later

·         32-bit/64-bit Microsoft Vista Ultimate SP2 or later

·         32/64-bit Windows 7 Professional SP1 or later

·         32/64-bit Windows 7  Ultimate Edition SP1 or later

·         32/64-bit Microsoft Windows 8 Pro

New Features, Improvements, and Announcements

·         PDW-U2 firmware has been updated to version 2.320

o   Bug fix: the “Laser Hours” parameter display did not work properly at 4661 hours and higher.

·         PDW-U1 firmware remains at version 2.540

·         The “Volume Recovery” function of the XDCAM Drive Utility has been improved in the following manner:

o   Adds the ability of the software to recover write once discs which have been incorrectly flagged by the VFAM driver as being an “unsupported volume”

·         Bug fix: There was a small possibility that VFAM version 4.0.2 could write to a write once disc and cause it to be incorrectly flagged as having an error (and requiring repair).  This bug has been fixed in VFAM v 4.0.3.

·         Bug fix: There was a small possibility that a long GOP MPEG-2 subclip exported by Content Browser could cause the VFAM driver version 4.0.2 to hang.  This bug has been fixed in VFAM v 4.0.3.

Re: XDCAM Drive Software (VFAM) - v4.0.3

Anyone having trouble using a U1 Drive with the latest MAC software, Sierra 10.12.1?  Mine was working fine but now says the XDCAM disc is read only and will now allow me to write to the User Data folder.

Re: XDCAM Drive Software (VFAM) - v4.0.3

This appears to be the most current VFAM version, which does not work with the newest MAC OS, Sierra 10.12.1
