All Internet video disappeared

Hi folks, just thought I would drop by since I seem to have a strange problem.

Last night the TV (65HX729, about 45 days old) was working fine. Today, I cannot reach Netflix and I notice all of the other internet video options are gone. No Hulu or anything else except Bravia. Some of the menu items along the bottom of the Home screen are also missing. It is like part of the firmware has been erased.

If I try to update the internet video, it tries for a while then gives me a 5008 error and I have to cancel. Internet connection seems fine and I have tried with wired and wireless connections.

I have an 46NX720 in the other room that I have had for a year and it is still working correctly. Same firmware (latest) on both.

I have turned off and unplugged the unit for 30 minutes with no difference noted.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Hello,
Welcome to the User Discussion Forums.
For your 5008 Error we suggest calling into Technical Support for network assistance. Please have the topography of your wireless set up (router, modem info) even if other devices are still connecting, it is possible a manual configuration may be necessary.

Re: All Internet video disappeared

Did a software update on my HX929 and all widgets and most internet content disappeared including Netflix, Amazon, etc.  Spent over 6 hrs so far with tech support doing factory resets, trying to update internet content (and getting error 5008), changing network settings, etc.--all to no avail.  Same thing happened on blu ray player.  Tech support claims problem is that Time Warner Internet in Calif is not recognized as US-based ISP.  Called TWC tech support and they said it was Sony problem as IP addresses issed by them are US based.

Re: All Internet video disappeared

Hello Greg

Download the firmware update on a USB drive and install it using USB.
Then, perform Refresh Internet Content 3 times.
Perform factory reset for 3 times.

Re: jRe: All Internet video disappeared

Hello All,

Refresh the Internet Content in the TV.
Power reset the TV and Router by unplugging the power cords for 30 seconds.
Reset the TV to factory default settings for 3 times.
1) Turn on the TV.
2) Wait approximately 40 seconds for the TV to completely start up.
3) On the TV remote control, press and hold the UP ARROW button.
4) While holding the UP ARROW button, press and release the POWER button on the TV set.
Note: The TV may turn off and then back on.
5)  Release the UP ARROW button.

Regards,
Colby
