Hi tomt46142

Welcome to Sony Community!

Yes, it is possible for your Vaio SVF15A16CXB, but there may be modifications on the internal parts. You may visit Sony's Authorized Service Center for assistance. I will send you a private message for the details.

Thanks,

Vincent

Re: SSD replacement in a VAIO SVF15A16CXB

Please provide me with any details for performing this SVF15a16cxb upgrade to SSD hard disk.  Is there a special controller card or mounting bracket required, or should a standard SSD hard disk mount and install properly?

Thanks,

Scott

Re: SSD replacement in a VAIO SVF15A16CXB

Hi,

Just now got back to this post. The answer does not satisfy my requirements as there are no nearby Sony Authorized Service Centers and am not interested in driving across the state. I live in Tampa, FL. I also do not want to ship out my system.

Are there any online instructions I can use to do this myself. I am an IT person and have worked on hundreds of systems myself and am perfectly capable of doing the work, provided I have the necessary parts when I start the process.

Thanks,
Scott
